I Can’t Come to Work…..my dog’s in labor!

Well, it’s cold and flu season around here. Which got me thinking about the excuses people use to call in sick–whether they are truly sick or just sick of work (hey, we all need a break now and then!)

I would love to hear Your most creative excuses–I’ll publish a list of the best. Feel free to use a different name (so your boss won’t know!)

My favorite excuse so far Was actually the title excuse–an employee who called me one day to explain she couldn’t come to work because her dog was in labor. After hearing how much just one puppy sold for, I had to admit I couldn’t match what she made that day!

So c’mon–send me those creative excuses. I will list them here for the amusement of others. And maybe–for others to use! Ah-CHOO!

Calling All Cooks!

There are two things I never seem to have enough of–time, and good recipes!

I decided to start this blog, to have a place where recipes can be shared. I will review all submssions. If I like them, I will publish them on this site. If I get enough great recipes I will organize them into a book. So–please–send me your favorite recipes! I can’t offer money, just the glory of havng your recipe and name published on this site.

Here are the criteria for submission:

The recipe can be for any type of dish and needs to be easy to prepare. Include specific ingredients, measurements and directions. If you know the calorie count, include that. Please proof–read carefully—I won’t be ‘test-cooking” everything.

Feel free to add comments, history, or special notes–I will include these as space allows. Of course I reserve the right to edit as needed.
