It’s Not Too Late to Order!

Netflix says there is still time to give Dad a subscription for movie rentals. Noodles offers a free sandwich to Dads—they are promoting their new sandwiches, by the way. Caribou Coffee suggests Dad would like some ground coffee. Seems everyone has the perfect gift idea. My company (cellular service—it shall remain nameless) is offering a free phone to everyone who signs up on Father’s Day. Hey—perhaps you could stop in after getting Dad a sandwich and a couple pounds of coffee! You know, as long as you are in the neighborhood.

When did Father’s Day turn into this carnival of gift suggestions? Have I missed that the last couple years? Or has the economy led to this? It seems there is a holiday, a reason to buy, every month. We obligingly agonize over the perfect gift. What do the Dad’s think of all this? And what do They really want? Cause if I don’t get an idea soon, I’m gonna have to go with the sandwich.
